How to: Color a shape in a chart.
Solution:
Select the shape, select the 'Format' menu and select 'Object...'. Click 'Pattern' and select a color.
To color a shape:
1) Double-click on the chart.
NOTE: If the chart is on a separate chart sheet in Excel, click the tab for the chart sheet.
2) Single-click on the desired shape.
3) Select the 'Format' menu and select 'Object...'. (The Format Object dialog box appears.)
4) Click 'Pattern'.
5) Select a color for the shape in the color palette of the 'Fill' group.

6) Click 'OK'.
